Principal Power Systems Engineer

About the role

Egis Group is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to join its Brisbane team. You will work in a consulting environment on a variety of projects, delivering power system studies, analysis and design across the full project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Perform power system modelling and analysis including load flow, fault level, motor starting and arc‑flash studies using ETAP, SKM PTW or equivalent.
• Develop and maintain HV/MV system models, single‑line diagrams and protection interfaces.
• Undertake protection coordination studies and support earthing and lightning protection design.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and engineering documentation for client review.
• Review vendor designs, support factory acceptance testing, site commissioning and troubleshoot power system issues.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in power systems engineering within industrial, utilities or consulting environments.
• Proven ability to perform load flow, fault level and arc‑flash analyses.
• Hands‑on use of modelling tools such as ETAP, SKM PTW, PSCAD or PowerFactory.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and HV/MV system design.
