Principal Platform Architect

About the role

The Principal Platform Architect is a trusted advisor for enterprise platform strategy and governance, defining standards and guiding technical decisions to keep ServiceNow healthy, scalable, and aligned with customer goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain platform vision and strategy aligned to enterprise IT and business objectives.
• Establish platform health metrics, remediation strategies, and governance frameworks covering instance strategy, integrations, and data models.
• Provide architectural guidance, reusable patterns, and reference architectures to accelerate delivery and reduce risk.
• Partner with C‑level executives and platform teams to ensure decisions support measurable business outcomes and adoption of AI and automation.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution strategy, and program leadership.
• Proven ability to engage executive stakeholders and influence platform direction.
• Track record of defining enterprise‑scale architectures and governance models.
• Must hold or be eligible for baseline/NV1/NV2 security clearance.

Required skills

• ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) or equivalent architecture certifications.
• Deep expertise in platform strategy, integration patterns, and complex delivery governance.
• Experience integrating AI into workflows, automating processes, and leveraging AI‑driven insights.
