Principal Mechanical Engineer

About the role

KBR is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead technically complex projects across defence, water, energy and resources sectors in Adelaide. You will own the delivery of mechanical engineering solutions and mentor developing engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities through concept, preliminary and detailed stages.
• Define scopes of work, provide technical input during planning and review contractor designs.
• Develop specifications, select equipment and support construction, testing and commissioning.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to standards and continuous improvement, and build strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Chartered or aspiring Chartered Mechanical Engineer with experience in complex projects.
• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a Baseline Defence Security Clearance and meet ITAR eligibility.
