Primary School Teacher (K-6) – 12‑Month Fixed Term

About the role

Dumbleyung Primary School is seeking a full‑time Primary Teacher for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract starting Term 1 2027, with the possibility of extension or permanency. You will work with 60 students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in a close‑knit, community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes high expectations and a growth mindset.
• Design and deliver engaging literacy and numeracy programmes aligned with the school’s instructional model.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs and use a range of assessment tools to monitor progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues on whole‑school initiatives and contribute to ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with parents, students and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to foster genuine relationships and support students’ social‑emotional development.
• Motivation to implement best teaching practices and engage in collaborative, whole‑school approaches.

Required skills

• High‑impact teaching strategies for literacy and numeracy.
• Experience designing differentiated learning experiences.
• Proficiency with assessment tools and data‑informed feedback.
• Familiarity with PR1ME Mathematics, Seven Steps to Successful Writing, Explicit Direct Instruction, Daily Reviews and Sweller’s Cognitive Load Theory (beneficial but not mandatory).
