About the role

An independent school near Officer, Melbourne's south-east, is recruiting a part-time Primary Music Teacher (Prep-Year 6) through Tradewind Australia. It is a short-term, fixed-term Term 1 maternity leave cover for a confident music specialist who can run an established program. The school is a co-educational independent college focused on academic achievement, personal growth and community values.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging music lessons across Prep-Year 6
• Plan, assess and report in line with curriculum expectations
• Maintain consistent routines and positive learning environments across year levels
• Work independently to manage the Primary Music program day to day, as the sole music teacher
• Collaborate professionally with classroom teachers and relevant leaders

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Education
• Current or pending VIT registration
• Confidence teaching Primary Music across P-6
• Ability to work independently as the sole Primary Music teacher
• Familiarity with, or ability to follow, the Australian Curriculum

What we offer

• Salary of AU$83,895 to AU$124,449 per annum plus 12% superannuation
• Part-time 0.6 FTE schedule: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
