Preventative Maintenance Trade Assistant

About the role

Join Tomra’s Field Service team as a Preventative Maintenance Trade Assistant, travelling daily from the Truganina warehouse to service Reverse Vending Machines across Western Victoria and Tasmania. You will perform preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades to ensure optimal performance of field equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Strip, clean, rebuild and service field equipment to maintain optimal performance and presentation.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and replace or restore worn or expired components.
• Conduct equipment testing, tagging, upgrades, and commissioning activities as required.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical faults on Tomra equipment.
• Support Field Service Technicians with corrective maintenance and repair activities.
• Complete detailed service reports, including faults identified, repairs completed, testing, and parts replaced.
• Manage inventory, consumables, and spare parts, ensuring accurate stock control and replenishment.
• Maintain accurate records using company software, ERP, and inventory management systems.
• Travel as required, including extended driving and occasional after‑hours callouts.
• Deliver excellent customer service to customers, partners, and the public while following all Tomra safety standards.

Required profile

• Similar experience in a previous role.
• Full driver’s licence.
• Safety‑first mindset.
• Tag and test licence (desirable).
• Forklift licence (desirable).

Required skills

• Use of hand tools.
• Experience with ERP and inventory management systems.
