Practice Education Coordinator - Social Work

About the role

The Practice Education Coordinator will manage field placements for social work courses and teach the new Masters of Social Work program, ensuring students are academically and practically prepared for their placements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and develop current, relevant material for fieldwork placements.
• Oversee the assessment process to align with learning outcomes and ensure compliance with AE standards and regulatory bodies.
• Engage in professional development to enhance teaching quality and stay current with emerging practices.
• Deliver engaging placement induction programs and ensure students meet placement requirements.
• Incorporate feedback from agencies to improve the onboarding process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to adhere to WHS policies and participate in incident investigations.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification in Social Work or related discipline with eligibility for professional membership.
• 3+ years post‑qualification relevant industry experience.
• Commitment to at least 20 hours of continued professional development each year.
• High professional and ethical conduct, resilience, and collaborative approach.
• Strong understanding of theory and practice in the discipline.
