Pilates Instructor

About the role

Cumberland City Council's Aquatic and Leisure department runs five Aquatic and Leisure Centres across the LGA, offering aquatic, leisure and wellness programs. As a Pilates Instructor, you plan and deliver safe, inclusive and effective Pilates sessions that promote strength, flexibility and overall wellbeing, supporting a healthy and active community. The position is casual, based at the Aquatic Centres, with preferred availability on Thursdays and occasional travel across Council work sites.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver safe, inclusive and effective Pilates sessions
• Adapt programs for different ages, fitness levels, injuries and physical limitations
• Deliver sessions in group or individual settings

Required profile

• Certificate in Pilates Instruction (Mat Work Level 1 or higher)
• Demonstrated experience delivering Pilates classes in group or individual settings
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Current HLATAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR
• Right to live and work in Australia, and ability to attend a pre-employment medical examination

Required skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comprehensive understanding of Pilates principles and body alignment
• Strong understanding of exercise science, functional movement and injury prevention

• Pay under the NSW Local Government (State) Award, Grade 8, $40.90 to $50.11 per hour plus casual loading, 12% superannuation and weekend penalty rates; starting salary negotiable
