Pharmacy Technician Grade 3

About the role

A senior, experienced Grade 3 Pharmacy Technician is sought for the Pharmacy Department at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, a teaching, research and tertiary health service. The position is permanent and full-time, based in Fitzroy near Melbourne's CBD and public transport, within a skilled and supportive team. It offers a high degree of autonomy and covers specialised services such as aseptic and chemotherapy preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide aseptic services, including chemotherapy compounding, biohazard sterile preparations and sterile manufacturing
• Support satellite pharmacy and dispensary services
• Manage imprest supplies, inventory and stock
• Support PBS claims and associated processes
• Work autonomously while collaborating closely with pharmacists and the wider Pharmacy team

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Hospital Pharmacy/Health Services Support, or equivalent
• Minimum of three years' full-time experience as a qualified hospital pharmacy technician
• Current National Criminal History Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Willingness to meet vaccination and immunisation requirements under organisational policy

Required skills

• Advanced technical skills and attention to detail
• Chemotherapy compounding experience highly desirable
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
