Pharmacist Team Leader – Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

The Grade 3 Pharmacist Team Leader will oversee daily pharmacy operations at Northern Beaches Hospital, ensuring safe, person‑centred, and cost‑effective medication services. Reporting to the Director or Deputy Director of Pharmacy, this role combines clinical expertise with leadership of staff and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day activities across multiple pharmacy areas, maintaining high quality standards.
• Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, coordinating schedules and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with clinicians, external providers, and health information systems to optimise medication safety.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives and monitor performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (or eligibility for immediate registration) without conditions.
• Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, demonstrating strong clinical knowledge.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to work with both novice and experienced health professionals.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and proficiency with health information systems.
• Ability to lead quality improvement projects.
