Pharmacist – Operations (Level 1) – Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

The Canberra Health Services Pharmacy Department is seeking an early‑career pharmacist for a Level 1 Operations position at The Canberra Hospital. This permanent, on‑site role offers a structured rotation across dispensary, manufacturing and distribution services, providing a solid foundation in hospital pharmacy practice.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate through inpatient and outpatient dispensing areas.
• Perform aseptic and non‑sterile compounding, including cytotoxic preparations.
• Operate and support medication automation and robotics systems.
• Assist with medication distribution across hospital and community settings.
• Participate in shift work, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Recently registered pharmacist or early‑career professional.
• Motivated, adaptable and able to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
• Willingness to work on‑site at The Canberra Hospital and cover shift patterns.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
