Pharmacist – Manufacturing Services (Grade 2)

About the role

Western Health is seeking an experienced Grade 2 Pharmacist to join the Manufacturing Services team across multiple sites. The role involves providing safe and effective compounding services for patients, including chemotherapy therapies, and acting as a pharmacy representative for compounded products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, deliver and support manufacturing pharmacy services for patients receiving various therapies.
• Apply clinical pharmacy knowledge to ensure safe manufacturing practices and provide clinical information.
• Optimize medication doses and cost‑effective treatment options.
• Conduct risk assessments for storage, handling and compounding of medicines, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards.
• Provide medication information to medical, nursing, allied health staff, patients and carers.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective service delivery.
• Participate in reviewing and improving personal work practices and suggest service improvements.

Required profile

• Comprehensive knowledge of aseptic and non‑sterile compounding, clinical pharmacy and relevant guidelines.
• Strong problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management abilities to meet manufacturing service demands.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Experience in medication evaluations and quality assurance activities.
