Pharmacist – Aseptic & Production Services

About the role

Canberra Health Services is seeking an experienced hospital pharmacist to join the Aseptic and Production Services team at The Canberra Hospital. The role focuses on aseptic compounding, manufacturing excellence, and medication safety, supporting the safe and compliant production of high‑risk medicines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense cytotoxic and non‑cytotoxic sterile medicines, parenteral nutrition, and clinical trial products.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and departmental governance frameworks.
• Participate in audits, accreditation activities, and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and junior pharmacists, coordinating production workflow.
• Provide on‑call coverage, including weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Qualified hospital pharmacist with experience in aseptic environments.
• Strong understanding of medication safety and GMP standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams such as oncology, ICU, and nutrition support.
• Willingness to lead, innovate, and contribute to service development.
