Personal Care Worker – Aged Care

About the role

Uniting Communities is looking for a warm, passionate Personal Care Worker in Felixstow who wants to support residents while respecting their right to choice, independence and dignity. Casual and permanent part-time opportunities are available; permanent part-time shifts are prioritised with a minimum of 5-6 shifts per fortnight, and rosters cannot be changed or hours reduced in the first 6 months.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care such as bathing, showering, personal hygiene and grooming
• Assist with meals and drinks
• Apply practices and promote wellness to help older people improve their independence and quality of life
• Follow care plans and observe and record individual care notes
• Use mechanical aids accurately

Required profile

• Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support
• Experience in Aged Care
• Demonstrated understanding of the standards and guidelines of Residential Aged Care
• Friendly demeanour and motivation to help others

Required skills

• Ability to write care notes and enter them into a computer

• Base hourly rate of $37 plus shift allowances and salary sacrifice
• Not-for-profit packaging of up to $15,900 per year pre-tax, plus a $2,650 meals and entertainment card
• Night shifts available with a stable roster and extra hours
