Personal Care Assistant - Haematology/Oncology

About the role

Cabrini Health is expanding its Oncology and Haematology services in Malvern and is looking for a Personal Care Assistant to join the team. You will work closely with registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality care to patients, helping create a comfortable, respectful and supportive environment for patients and their families. The role is full time or part time, with shifts of 07:30-14:30 on a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of patient care under the direction and supervision of registered nurses
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
• Respond to patient and family queries, escalating to the registered nurse as appropriate
• Maintain a clean, safe and supportive patient environment, including bed making and equipment checks
• Uphold patient privacy, dignity and respect at all times

Required profile

• Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (or equivalent qualification as per the position description)
• Previous experience in an acute hospital setting is preferable
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality and high standards of care

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build trust and rapport with patients and families
• Team collaboration and reliability
