Permanent Years 7-9 English Teacher (Minor Subject Negotiable)

About the role

A permanent position is sought for a Years 7-9 English teacher at St Joseph's School, a Catholic coeducational school in Murray Bridge, South Australia. The post is based in the Middle School (Years 7-9) and the FTE is negotiated with the successful applicant; a minor subject can also be taught.

Key responsibilities

• Apply curriculum knowledge and pedagogical practice, differentiate teaching and develop Personalised Plans for Learning (PPLs) for students across the full range of abilities
• Plan, assess and report on student learning against standards using the SEQTA platform
• Create and maintain safe, supportive learning environments and respond to learners' needs
• Implement safeguarding in line with the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards and school policy, and uphold the ethos of Catholic and Josephite schools
• Comply with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, relevant legislation and SACCS policies, and supervise students at designated times and places
• Maintain professional boundaries and model respectful behaviour

Required profile

• SA Teachers Registration
• Working with Children Check
• Approved mandatory notification training on risks of harm, abuse and neglect, and child protection curriculum certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• Willingness to complete Teacher Accreditation in Catholic Education SA training and other compulsory training
• Local teachers or educators living between Adelaide and Murray Bridge are welcome
