Permanent Recruitment Consultant – Brisbane

About the role

HOBAN Recruitment is looking for an experienced Recruitment Consultant in Brisbane to build and run their own permanent recruitment desk. The role suits someone who enjoys developing strong client relationships and growing their own business, with temp or permanent recruiting experience in construction, engineering, mining/resources, technical, trades, utilities or science. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a successful permanent recruitment desk
• Develop new business through proactive sales, networking and market engagement
• Identify and pursue new client and recruitment opportunities
• Build trusted, long-term relationships with new and existing clients
• Meet clients to understand their businesses, hiring needs and workforce challenges
• Manage the complete permanent recruitment life cycle, from business development and job qualification through to placement
• Source, engage, interview and represent high-quality candidates
• Develop and maintain strong talent networks in the chosen market
• Provide clients with market insights, salary guidance and recruitment advice
• Negotiate recruitment terms and manage commercial conversations
• Maintain an active pipeline of vacancies, candidates and prospective clients
• Take ownership of desk performance, activity and billings

Required profile

• Previous agency recruitment experience in construction, engineering, mining/resources, technical, trades, utilities or science
• Strong commercial mindset and drive to build a profitable desk
• Confidence developing new business and achieving targets and increasing billings
• Client relationship and account management skills
• Experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes
• Ability to work autonomously within a collaborative national team
• Full Australian working rights
