People & Culture Manager - Strategy, Performance & Employee Relations

About the role

A senior part-time or full-time People & Culture role in Australia, combining strategic insight with hands-on handling of complex people, performance and employee relations matters. Working closely with the Managing Director, General Manager and senior leadership, the role covers strategy, performance, employee relations and governance across a diverse and growing business. Full Australian work rights are required.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with executive management on people strategy, governance and reporting, including workforce trends, risks, capability gaps and organisational design
• Develop and oversee performance frameworks, objectives, KPIs and OKRs, and support bonus, incentive and recognition programs
• Advise management on complex employee relations and industrial relations matters, guide managers through disciplinary and termination cases, and coordinate external employment lawyers
• Manage employer-sponsored migration and visa matters, liaising with advisers, lawyers and government agencies
• Act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and coach managers on difficult conversations and performance issues

Required profile

• Significant experience in a senior HR, People & Culture, Employee Relations or HR Business Partner position
• Demonstrated experience managing complex performance, disciplinary and termination matters
• Experience with external employment lawyers and claims or disputes
• Experience developing performance frameworks, KPIs, OKRs, remuneration or incentive programs
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business, Law or a related discipline

Required skills

• Strong practical knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations legislation and Modern Awards
• Ability to provide meaningful workforce reporting and recommendations to senior management
• Excellent written communication and documentation skills
• Commercial, pragmatic approach and the confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior stakeholders
