About the role
The People Advisor will be based in our Adelaide office and provide generalist HR support to the Victoria & South Australia business unit. Reporting to the Senior People Advisor, you will help employees navigate HR matters, manage documentation, and contribute to learning and development initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice on employee issues, grievances, policy interpretation, and termination processes.
- Maintain employee files, prepare HR correspondence, and ensure records are up‑to‑date.
- Facilitate inductions, off‑boarding, and conduct exit interviews.
- Support local Learning and Development activities in partnership with the Senior People Advisor.
- Administer workers‑compensation claims and coordinate return‑to‑work for injured employees.
- Assist with the implementation of HR policies, procedures, systems, and best practices.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- Operational HR experience in a medium‑large organisation, preferably within construction or a similar industry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions, and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
- Capability to interpret complex information and apply it to practical HR problems.
