People Advisor

About the role

Based in our Adelaide office, the People Advisor will provide generalist HR support and advice to the Victoria & South Australia business unit of BESIX Watpac. Reporting to the Senior People Advisor, you will act as a trusted partner for employees and managers, helping to resolve issues, manage employee records and support learning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Advise employees on HR matters, including grievance resolution, policy interpretation, exits and terminations.
• Maintain employee files, prepare HR correspondence and ensure records are up‑to‑date.
• Facilitate inductions, off‑boarding and conduct exit interviews.
• Support local Learning & Development activities in collaboration with the Senior People Advisor and L&D team.
• Administer workers‑compensation claims and coordinate return‑to‑work for injured staff.
• Assist in implementing HR policies, procedures, systems and practices aligned with company objectives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
• Operational HR experience in a medium‑large organisation, preferably within construction or a similar industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of building relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven skill in interpreting complex information and applying it to practical HR problems.
