Penetration Tester

About the role

CyberCX is looking for a Penetration Tester in Canberra who will carry out penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and other security activities with the oversight and support of a more senior team member, and provide security expertise to CyberCX clients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver application, network, systems and infrastructure penetration tests for customers, performing the top five and emerging STA services to a high standard with adequate supervision.
• Write high-quality reports detailing security issues, recommendations and solutions, and contribute to customer presentations and discussions.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with a diverse range of customers and explore opportunities within existing and new ones.
• Meet KPIs on client expectation management, delivery deadlines, quality of work and deliverables, including quality management.
• Share knowledge and support STA team members to upskill and cross-skill, and help with R&D, innovation and practice improvement under supervision.
• Collaborate across CyberCX, facilitate communication and partnerships between teams, and meet utilisation targets with on-budget delivery.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in information systems, software development or a similar field, or equivalent industry experience.
• A minimum of 2 years as a security testing or cyber practitioner, with experience managing client expectations, time management, technical delivery and report writing.
• Preferred: penetration testing certifications such as OSCP, though not essential.
