Payroll Officer

About the role

A well-established organisation is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join its high-performing payroll team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will deliver accurate and compliant end-to-end payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will use your SAP/Chris21 skills and partner with HR, Finance and key stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy, legislative compliance and good service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll across Australia and New Zealand.
• Handle new starters, terminations, leave, allowances and payroll adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation.
• Answer complex payroll queries and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Complete payroll reconciliations, reporting and month-end activities.
• Maintain accurate employee records in the payroll system.
• Contribute to payroll process improvements and system enhancements.

Required profile

• Previous end-to-end payroll experience in a medium to large organisation.
• Experience processing Australian and New Zealand payrolls.
• Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and superannuation.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to build stakeholder relationships.

Required skills

• SAP/Chris21 (strong experience preferred).
• Strong Excel skills and payroll reporting.
