Payroll Officer

About the role

Goodman Fielder, behind some of Australia and New Zealand's most loved food brands, is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Payroll Officer on a 12-month fixed-term contract until December 2027. The role ensures employees are paid accurately and on time, across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely end-to-end payroll processing across Australia
• Process payroll changes, adjustments and termination payments
• Resolve payroll queries with a customer-first mindset
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations and compliance checks
• Ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation and company policies
• Partner with HR, Finance, IT and Payroll SMEs to deliver seamless payroll services
• Identify opportunities to improve, streamline and automate payroll processes
• Support system enhancements and act as an escalation point for payroll issues

Required profile

• 2+ years of end-to-end payroll experience
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience in large or complex payroll environments
• Attention to detail and analytical skills
• Stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement

Required skills

• Experience with SAP and/or UKG (Kronos) is highly regarded
