Part-Time Vet Nurse

About the role

Riverbank Animal Hospital in Grafton, NSW, is looking for a confident Vet Nurse to join its busy team. It is a large modern hospital treating small animals such as dogs, cats, bunnies, birds and exotics, with digital x-ray, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, surgery and dental suites, and separate dog and cat wards. The position is permanent part-time, Monday 8-5pm, Tuesday 8-6pm and Friday 8-5pm, with potential for extra hours.

Key responsibilities

• Lead on client experience and communication
• Support vets in consults and perform nurse consulting such as nail trims, anal gland expression and injections for arthritis and allergies
• Prepare and administer medications
• Run blood sampling and cytology slides
• Liaise with the hospital team when patients are admitted from consult
• Handle general stocking, cleaning and administration

Required profile

• 2+ years of vet nursing experience
• Excellent communication with clients and team members
• Good sense of urgency and initiative to keep the scheduler on time
• Enjoys organising and coordinating people and patients
• Confident working independently in a busy team
