Part-Time Oral Health Therapist / Dental Hygienist

About the role

Evatt Dental Care, a family-focused practice in Canberra with a well-established hygiene programme, is looking for an experienced Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist to join its team on a part-time basis, working three days per week. The clinic is busy, uses modern technology such as intra-oral cameras and a TRIOS scanner, and is supported by EMS Airflow and Cavitron equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene assessments and treatments, including scaling, polishing and fluoride applications
• Educate patients on oral health, preventive care and effective hygiene practices
• Take and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays) to support diagnosis and treatment planning
• Potentially perform therapy within scope of practice and in collaboration with the clinical team
• Assist in the management of dental emergencies and support a range of clinical procedures
• Maintain accurate, detailed and up-to-date patient records
• Build strong relationships with patients and uphold infection control standards
• Stay current with emerging dental technologies and best practices through professional development

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist registered to practice in Australia
• Holds unrestricted AHPRA registration and professional indemnity insurance (or is able to obtain it)
• Able to work within Australia
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dental team
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for managing patient records and treatment plans
