Part-Time Cook

About the role

The ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street hotel, located in the Brisbane CBD with views over the river to Southbank, is looking for a reliable part-time cook to join its kitchen team. The role is preferably around 20 hours per week, from 5:00pm to 9:30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain mise en place so that kitchen operations and service run efficiently.
• Keep the work area clean, safe and hygienic, meeting high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Follow stock rotation procedures and manage inventory to minimise food wastage.
• Keep kitchen areas clean and well maintained.
• Clean, maintain and monitor kitchen equipment, reporting faults to the Executive Chef.
• Receive and check deliveries, unpack produce and store stock according to food safety requirements.
• Perform general kitchen cleaning and housekeeping.

Required profile

• Full Australian working rights; the role is not available for sponsorship.
• Trade qualification in Cookery (Certificate III and above) or currently pursuing one.
• Passion for cooking and interest in a career in the culinary industry.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to a fast-paced kitchen.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
