Operator – Zinc Filter Plant

About the role

Mount Isa Mines is looking for motivated individuals to join the Zinc Filter Plant team in a residential position at Mount Isa. The role offers hands‑on experience operating plant equipment, supporting concentrate handling, and contributing to safe, efficient mineral production.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor filter presses, pumps, conveyors and associated process equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections, sampling, plant checks and report equipment issues.
• Assist with concentrate handling, including unloading deliveries and product movement activities.
• Complete production reporting, shift records and safety documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment through housekeeping and plant cleaning activities.

Required profile

• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and teamwork.
• Mechanical aptitude and interest in plant or equipment operation.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow procedures and instructions.
