Operator Trainer

About the role

WesTrac is seeking an Operator Trainer to develop the skills and capability of customers and owner‑operators across a range of Caterpillar and allied equipment. Based in regional NSW you will deliver engaging training programmes, conduct assessments and provide onsite coaching to improve productivity and equipment performance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver operator training programmes in classroom, practical and onsite environments.
• Conduct operator assessments and competency evaluations in line with company and industry standards.
• Demonstrate equipment capability, machine technology and best‑practice operating techniques.
• Develop, review and continuously improve training materials and course content.
• Build strong relationships with customers and site stakeholders to support training outcomes.
• Promote safe work practices, maintain training records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience operating Caterpillar and/or other heavy mobile equipment.
• Previous experience as a Trainer, Assessor or in a site‑based training role.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent) and a relevant Certificate III qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Experience within mining, quarrying, civil construction or agricultural equipment environments is highly regarded.
