Operations Support Officer

About the role

The Operations Support Officer will join the Clayton South Operations team at BlueScope Distribution, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day execution of operational and maintenance activities. This role sits at the centre of a busy site, coordinating procurement, inventory, supplier liaison and reporting to keep the business running efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing activities and manage supplier relationships.
• Maintain consumables inventory processes and ensure accurate stock levels.
• Prepare and deliver operational reports for management.
• Identify and implement process improvements across procurement and inventory functions.
• Support day‑to‑day operational tasks and assist with maintenance scheduling.

Required profile

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent judgement when handling financial and business information.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.
