Operations Manager (Sortation Shift)

About the role

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is looking for an Operations Manager to oversee daily logistics operations at a delivery station, drive process improvements, ensure safety and compliance and lead teams to meet customer expectations. The role supervises a team of Shift Managers and their direct reports and reports to the Site Lead; night shift is a potential requirement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of Shift Managers and their direct reports, and act as proxy for the Site Lead.
• Review the operational forecast and determine productivity requirements for the delivery station.
• Support all safety programs to keep the work environment safe for associates and delivery service providers.
• Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
• Analyse shift performance against business objectives and put in place actions to improve operational excellence.
• Manage the manpower plan and oversee shift patterns, including hours booking and staff holiday management.

Required profile

• 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 3+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights and holidays.

Preferred qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with performance metrics, process improvement or Lean techniques.
