Operational Improvement Specialist - Mining

About the role

The Perth branch of Hitachi Construction Machinery is looking for an Operational Improvement Specialist to join its Fleet Management System (FMS) team. You will work with the Operational Improvements team to deliver mining consultancy services focused on optimizing fleet management and mining operations, helping clients improve productivity, safety and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Work with clients to understand their operational challenges and goals
• Analyse mining operations with Mine Controllers and operational staff to find improvement areas
• Advise on fleet management and operational improvements using Wenco FMS capabilities
• Develop tailored solutions to optimise operations and costs, and assist with implementation
• Help clients integrate Wenco FMS into their operations
• Train and support mine controllers and staff on FMS functions and best practice
• Use data analytics tools such as Power BI to produce reports and dashboards
• Manage several projects at once, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and documenting progress

Required profile

• Significant operational experience in mining, with a focus on open-pit mining
• Hands-on FMS experience as a Mine Controller, with a solid understanding of fleet management systems
• Proven track record in business improvement and operational optimization in mining
• Flexibility to travel to client sites for on-site support and consultancy
• Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline

• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Desirable: proficiency in Power BI or similar tools; experience with Wenco FMS or multiple fleet management systems
