Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter - Heavy Mobile Equipment

About the role

Rio Tinto is looking for qualified Heavy Duty Fitters to join its safety-focused teams across the Pilbara operations, performing planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on an extensive fleet of heavy mobile equipment. This is a permanent position reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, with an 8 days on, 6 days off roster (7 nights on, 7 nights off) based in Perth, Albany, Busselton, Broome or Geraldton.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with all Rio Tinto Iron Ore Company policies and procedures
• Conduct routine inspections of the digger fleet and determine repair actions when required
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects that increase safety while reducing risk and cost
• Use SAP to record maintenance tasks, assign them correctly and ensure they are completed to the relevant standard or specification

Required profile

• A Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic trade qualification
• Experience maintaining and servicing heavy mobile mining equipment
• An Australian C class manual driver's licence (or equivalent)
• Eligibility to work in Australia with full working rights, without sponsorship
