Onboarding Project Manager

About the role

As an Onboarding Project Manager within Square’s Global Seller Onboarding team, you will lead the technical onboarding and activation of new merchants, ensuring a seamless, scalable, and high‑quality experience for Mid‑Market and Enterprise sellers.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with sellers pre‑sale to support discovery, scoping, planning, and solution validation.
• Advise on and document Square product capabilities and limitations to set clear expectations.
• Own and manage multiple complex onboarding projects concurrently, balancing timelines and resources.
• Build strong cross‑functional partnerships with Sales, Account Management, Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Engineering.
• Communicate technical requirements clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Identify and manage risk throughout the onboarding lifecycle, ensuring consistent stakeholder communication and successful outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex technical projects, preferably in a SaaS or fintech environment.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally and influence without direct authority.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
