Officer Venue Support (Casual Pool)

About the role

Gympie Regional Council is recruiting six casual Officers Venue Support to provide technical, front-of-house and other event and venue support as directed. The role keeps venues and event spaces well presented and set up for functions so that staff, hirers and visitors see a positive, professional image. Pay is $42.65 per hour plus 25% casual loading and up to 15% superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Confirm setup requirements with users and hirers on the day of the event and assist with site access
• Deliver hirer inductions and ensure venues and common areas are clean, presentable and ready for public use
• Set up rooms with correct table and chair configurations, working technical equipment, catering and other booking specifications
• Move and arrange furniture and equipment, and provide event support including signage, catering delivery and other duties
• Complete basic administration such as reporting, catering, function forms and incident forms, using venue systems including Artifax, Vend and Microsoft Teams
• Set up and operate basic technical equipment such as audio, lighting, staging and AV within your skills
• Ensure hirers comply with workplace health and safety requirements, assist with parking for large events and secure the venue at the end of the day
• Act as warden in a fire or emergency, advise supervisors of repairs, safety issues and damage, and assist with bar service and first aid

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience delivering direct service and support to clients for functions or events, with a solution-focused approach
• Experience in a small team environment, working autonomously and communicating well with Council and the community
• Experience supporting a venue management environment and setting up rooms, including moving tables and chairs safely under WHS policy
• Current Queensland C class driver's licence and Responsible Service of Alcohol
