Nursery Production Operator

About the role

The Nursery Production Operator will join the Green Triangle Forests team at the Glencoe Nursery, supporting safe and efficient production of quality seedlings and cuttings.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out propagation, sowing, transplanting, cultivation, irrigation, stock movement, grading and dispatch.
• Operate tractors, forklifts, nursery machinery and other equipment safely, completing pre‑start inspections and routine maintenance.
• Monitor crop quality, identify plant health, pest, disease and production issues.
• Collaborate with employees, contractors and seasonal workers to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Assist with nursery infrastructure, irrigation systems, equipment and general site maintenance.
• Support fire readiness and response activities as required.

Required profile

• Experience or qualifications in nursery operations, horticulture, agriculture or a comparable production environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills, with willingness to guide and support others.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and Heavy Rigid (HR) licence; additional licences (forklift, heavy vehicle, chemical handling) are highly regarded.

• Use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Heavy vehicle (HR) licence and forklift certification.
