About the role
The Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead the Operating Theatre Services (OTS). This fixed‑term, full‑time position will coordinate patient care, drive clinical excellence, and manage resources within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the coordination of patient care across elective and emergency surgical procedures.
- Provide contemporary nursing leadership, fostering innovation and change.
- Oversee financial, physical and human resources to meet service outcomes within the allocated budget.
- Ensure compliance with best practice principles and collaborative multidisciplinary frameworks.

- Demonstrated ability to promote a shared vision and positively influence staff and stakeholders.
- Strong decision‑making skills, capable of rapid, evidence‑based judgments.
- Business‑focused mindset with an understanding of organisational and unit‑level operations.

What we offer
- Salary range $134,109 – $140,384 per annum (pro‑rated) plus 12% superannuation.
- Post‑graduate allowance up to 10% based on qualification.
- Salary packaging benefits, including living expense allowances.
- Travel and relocation assistance up to $10,000 for interstate candidates.
