Nurse Unit Manager - Day Procedure

About the role

The Day Procedure Unit at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne serves the procedural areas of Operating Suite, Endoscopy, DSA, CathLab, Cardiology and Radiology, admitting and discharging patients on average 18,000 times per year. The endoscopy department has three suites treating around 6,000 cases annually. This is a permanent, full-time position of 38 hours per week with ADO.

Key responsibilities

• Daily clinical coordination of the Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit nursing staff, including sick leave management, communicating list changes and equipment and emergency procedures
• Manage the nursing staff of the Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit
• Liaise daily with the Day Procedure and Endoscopy Unit ANUMs, Perioperative NUMs, the Anaesthetist in charge and the Sterile Processing Centre NUM about changes
• Communicate with those teams about ongoing changes

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing
• Relevant postgraduate qualification
• Minimum of 3-4 years' experience as a previous NUM or ANUM in DPU, Endoscopy or Peri-operative services
• Good understanding of GESA and GENCA standards, infection prevention and control guidelines for endoscopy and NSQHS standards
