Northside Produce Market Coordinator

About the role

The North Sydney Community Centre (NSCC) is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and commercially minded person to manage and help shape its fortnightly Northside Produce Market in North Sydney. The market brings together farmers, growers, food makers, small businesses and the local community and is an important fundraiser for the Centre. The role is hands-on, working with stallholders, customers and the Centre's leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage stallholder sourcing, selection, applications, bookings and communication; welcome new stallholders and work with the administration team on invoicing
• Develop promotions, themes, campaigns and special events with the Marketing Coordinator, and contribute to website, e-newsletter, posters and flyers
• Work with North Sydney Council and the Marketing Coordinator to raise market awareness, and develop local partnerships
• Ensure OH&S is observed on market day and set up, manage and pack down the market
• Monitor stall bookings, revenue, payments and expenses, process EFTPOS payments and oversee outstanding monies
• Maintain market records, including current stallholder insurance, and contribute to monthly reporting for the Management Committee
• Help with general office administration, enrolment days and Centre-wide events

Required profile

• Experience in markets, events, hospitality, food, marketing, sales, community engagement, customer service or small business is helpful
• Loves people, food, fresh produce and local producers
• Highly organised, commercially aware and attentive to detail
• Comfortable being visible, hands-on and a decision-maker
• Manages all logistical aspects of market day, including the Operations & Event Assistant

Employment details

• Permanent part-time position, three weekdays 10am-5pm (21 hours per week, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday preferred) plus market Saturdays 5am-2pm
• Award: SCHADS Award Level 3.4; reports to the Centre Director
