Non-Executive Board Director

About the role

The Centre is a community-owned, not-for-profit Community College established in 1962, offering community-building programs, learner support and education programs for people with low educational attainment and multiple challenges across a large region. It is seeking applications for a voluntary Non-Executive Board Director to help shape the Centre's strategic direction, ensure good governance and champion its values. The Board holds 11 meetings a year, each from 3 pm to 5 pm on a weekday, and expects a Director to attend meetings and represent the Board at some of the Centre's events.

Required profile

• Preferred: experience working with or on committees or Boards.
• Preferred: experience and knowledge in finance, IT, community work or training and education.
• Preferred: strong communication and interpersonal skills, including giving open and honest feedback respectfully.
• Preferred: ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality within legal constraints.
