Night Registered Nurse – Dementia Unit

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Night Registered Nurse to join our specialised Dementia Unit at the St Agnes Residential Facility. The role involves providing safe, high‑quality clinical care throughout the night, supporting the dignity, comfort and wellbeing of older South Australians living with dementia.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver person‑centred, evidence‑based nursing care to residents with dementia.
• Monitor residents’ health, respond promptly to clinical and behavioural needs during night hours.
• Administer medications, manage wound care and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Provide leadership and clinical oversight to care staff on shift.
• Support and mentor Care Workers to ensure best‑practice dementia care.
• Maintain a calm, safe and therapeutic environment throughout the night.
• Respond to behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) using best‑practice approaches.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and external health professionals.

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous experience in aged care, dementia care or a similar clinical setting.
• Strong clinical judgement, communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently during night duty.
• Current National Police Check, First Aid and Manual Handling certificates.
