Night Auditor

About the role

The Night Auditor at the Sheraton hotel in Gold Coast handles end-of-day operations, including posting charges, running the night audit backup and processing payments. The role also covers guest check-ins, room assignments and key issuance, and requires a friendly, professional approach to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Complete end-of-day activities: post charges to accounts, run the night audit backup, roll the date and complete the Room Rate Variance Report.
• Process all payment types (room charges, cash, checks, debit or credit) and adjust vouchers, paid-outs, corrections and miscellaneous charges.
• Print contingency lists of all guests in case of emergency and sell rooms to walk-in guests based on availability.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, handle wake-up call requests and inform guests of messages.
• Process guest check-ins, assign rooms, activate or reissue keys with the electronic key machine, count the bank at the end of shift and balance and drop receipts per accounting specifications.
• Report accidents, injuries and unsafe conditions to the manager, follow company policies, keep proprietary information confidential and protect company assets.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally.
• Maintain positive working relationships, comply with quality assurance standards and lift objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience; no supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification needed.
