Network Operations Duty Manager

About the role

Airnorth, a regional airline operating scheduled passenger and charter services across Australia, is seeking an experienced Network Operations Duty Manager to lead its Network Operations Centre in Perth. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role oversees day-to-day flying operations and leads the Network Operations team. It is a hands-on operational leadership role focused on safety, regulatory compliance, on-time performance, disruption management, cost control and customer outcomes, and acts as the primary operational contact for charter clients. The position works mainly Monday to Friday, with flexibility for weekend coverage, early starts, late finishes and an after-hours on-call arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of the Network Operations Centre and coordinate responses to delays, disruptions and unplanned events.
• Make timely operational decisions balancing safety, compliance, customer impact, operational integrity and cost.
• Lead, support and allocate work across the team, manage rosters, leave, timesheets and staffing coverage, and provide relief as a supervisor or controller when needed.
• Oversee crew rostering so flights are properly crewed under regulatory, legislative and industrial requirements.
• Liaise with Flight Operations, Engineering, Maintenance Control, Ground Operations, Inflight Services, Commercial and other teams.
• Act as the primary operational contact for charter clients during business hours and on call, and coordinate charter, wet lease and regular passenger transport from planning to completion.
• Manage disruption recovery, including sub-charter and cross-hire aircraft when required.
• Maintain operational information in AIMS, Envision and other systems, monitor on-time performance and lead improvement initiatives.
• Develop departmental manuals, procedures, training programs and charter briefings; support recruitment, training, performance and probation processes.
• Manage safety reports, hazards, investigations and audit actions, and monitor costs, invoices and purchase orders.

Required profile

• Previous experience in airline operations, network operations or a comparable logistics environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading employees in a fast-paced, operationally dependent environment.
• Sound understanding of aviation regulations, including flight and duty time limits and fatigue risk management.
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions with limited information, and to collaborate across departments.
• Legal right to live and work in Australia.
• Relevant tertiary qualification; experience developing or delivering workplace training is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Competence in Microsoft Office and confidence using operational systems.
• Radio Operator Certificate and Dangerous Goods Certificate, or ability to obtain them.
• Ability to obtain and retain an Aviation Security Identification Card.
