Network Engineer

About the role

Babcock is seeking a Network Engineer to join its growing technology team in Adelaide and support the network infrastructure that enables its operations across Australia and internationally. Reporting to the Infrastructure Team Leader, the role maintains, supports and enhances the enterprise network environment in a hands-on capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain and optimise core networks, WAN, LAN, firewalls, VoIP and wireless infrastructure
• Work with internal stakeholders, Solution Architects and external service providers to keep the network resilient, secure and aligned to business needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and support infrastructure projects
• Manage supplier relationships and contribute to solution design
• Drive best practice across the technology landscape

Required profile

• Australian citizen with a Defence security clearance, or the ability to obtain one
• Experienced networking professional focused on effective and efficient operational capability
• Eligible to obtain a security clearance under AGSVA guidelines; pre-employment checks such as references, police and security checks may be required

Required skills

• Cisco CCNA and CCNP certification
• Strong firewall background, preferably Cisco, Palo Alto or NetScaler
• Hands-on experience with SASE and SSE technologies
• Knowledge of Azure cloud networking, including connectivity, security and optimisation
