Countermeasures Engineer (Defence Electronics & RF Systems)

About the role

Join KBR in Adelaide as a Countermeasures Engineer, supporting the design, verification, testing and release of electronic countermeasure mission fills for Defence. You will work closely with Defence personnel, industry partners and engineering specialists to ensure compliance with technical regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct engineering design reviews of Force Protection Electronic Countermeasure (FPECM) Mission Fills.
• Plan, coordinate and execute laboratory and field‑based testing activities.
• Review technical documentation, verification evidence and engineering artefacts.
• Exercise delegated technical authority within approved Defence engineering frameworks.
• Perform Technical Data Assessments of system data and engineering packages.
• Support continuous improvement and maintenance of the Engineering Management System.

Required profile

• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Minimum three years of post‑graduate engineering experience in Defence.
• Australian citizenship with current NV1 Security Clearance (ability to obtain NV2).
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or ability to achieve.

Required skills

• Systems engineering within Defence projects.
• RF, communications and electronic warfare system design or integration.
• Test & Evaluation planning and execution (DT&E, AT&E).
• Experience with Defence engineering management, governance and certification frameworks.
