Network Architect - Contract (Brisbane)

About the role

Hastha Solutions is seeking an experienced Network Architect / Senior Network Engineer for a 6-month contract in Brisbane, with possible extension. The role leads the design and delivery of global network transformation across data centers, cloud and regional hubs, and is client-facing and hands-on, covering architecture, delivery governance and mentoring regional network engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the global network architecture and roadmap, and design end-to-end solutions for DC, cloud, WAN, LAN and SD-WAN
• Lead the move from legacy WAN to SD-WAN and architect network security and segmentation using Palo Alto, Prisma and Cisco ISE
• Lead design workshops, write HLD/LLD documents and oversee design, implementation and migration
• Mentor regional network engineers and ensure design consistency across geographies
• Design hybrid connectivity between on-prem data centers and cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP) using ExpressRoute, Direct Connect or VPN gateways
• Integrate security controls, ensure compliance and define Zero Trust and SASE principles
• Act as the primary technical contact, present to CIO-level stakeholders and take part in vendor evaluations and PoCs

Required profile

• 10+ years in network engineering, with at least 5 years in an architectural or technical leadership role
• Proven track record in global network transformation and multi-region deployments with distributed teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
• Australian or NZ citizen or PR holder only; duration 6 months, possible extension

Required skills

• Advanced routing, switching, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS and multicast
• Cisco SD-WAN (vManage/vBond/vSmart or vMX) and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, load balancers
• Cloud networking with Azure, AWS or GCP
• Monitoring and automation tools such as SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Ansible or Terraform
• Preferred certifications: Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Cisco Meraki Solution Specialist
