Job description
About the role
H+S is looking for a .NET engineer to join its Engineering practice, building applications, services and integrations across Microsoft 365 and Azure with React front ends. The work covers intranets, document management, collaboration tools and business applications, with a focus on SharePoint Online and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. You will own your work from initial conversations through to deployment and support.
Key responsibilities

- Build React front ends using TypeScript, connecting UIs to .NET APIs and Microsoft 365 services.
- Integrate Microsoft 365 with clients' business systems via Microsoft Graph, SharePoint APIs and other integration services.
- Develop SharePoint Online solutions, including intranets, document management, collaboration and business workflows, and extend SharePoint interfaces with React, TypeScript and the SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
- Choose between native Microsoft 365 capabilities, Power Platform and custom development, and explain the trade-offs.
- Implement authentication and authorisation using Entra ID, and write maintainable, testable code with automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Add logging, monitoring and diagnostics, and develop PowerShell scripts, provisioning tools and migration utilities.
- Work with designers, content specialists and clients on information architecture, permissions and user experience, and apply security, governance and compliance requirements.
- Produce technical documentation, estimate work, raise scope changes early and support Associate Consultants.
Required profile
- Australian citizen with an existing Australian Government Baseline security clearance or higher.
- Commercial experience building and supporting production applications with C# and modern .NET.
- Experience with ASP.NET Core web APIs, React front ends with TypeScript, and Azure services such as Functions, App Service, Service Bus or Azure SQL.
- Interest in SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365, with a willingness to develop depth in these platforms.
- Comfortable working directly with clients, taking ownership of delivery and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Practical use of AI-assisted development tools, with critical review of generated code.
- Qualification in IT, computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Required skills
- C#, ASP.NET Core, React, TypeScript and API integration.
- Authentication and authorisation, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.
- Entity Framework Core or equivalent, Git, code review and CI/CD.
- Nice to have: SharePoint Online (SPFx), Microsoft Graph, PnP Core SDK, Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, Entra ID app registrations, Microsoft Purview, Bicep or Terraform, Essential Eight and ISM, and Microsoft or Azure certifications.
