National OHSE Manager - Residential Construction

About the role

This position leads a well‑established OHSE function for a fast‑growing residential construction business. You will work closely with senior leadership, spend time on site to build relationships, and drive continuous safety improvements across high‑volume residential and medium‑density projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety strategy for large‑scale town‑house and residential developments.
• Manage and develop a high‑performing team of field safety officers.
• Translate safety insights into practical improvement plans and monitor behavioural safety, training and site engagement.
• Oversee systems (including BuildPass), audits, compliance reporting and ensure alignment with WHS legislation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional leaders to embed safety standards throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven OHSE leadership experience within residential construction.
• Ability to quickly earn trust on complex sites and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness and a solutions‑focused mindset.
• Deep understanding of WHS legislation and site‑based risk management.
• Passion for improving both physical and psychological safety outcomes.
