About the role
UGL is seeking experienced blue‑collar professionals to join the Chevron Barrow Island CO₂ Project in Western Australia. The roles support the world’s largest carbon capture and storage system at the Gorgon LNG facility and are expected to start as soon as possible for an estimated two‑year period.
Key responsibilities
- Perform rigging, electrical & instrumentation, mechanical, pipe‑fitting, welding, or crane‑operating tasks on a 15‑day on/6‑day off roster with 12‑hour shifts.
- Assist in the safe injection of CO₂ into offshore sandstone formations.
- Maintain compliance with site safety standards and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones are met.
Required profile
- Significant experience in a similar role within oil & gas, brownfield or greenfield environments.
- Preferably based in the greater Perth area.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to work in a high‑performance, team‑oriented setting.
Required skills
- Advanced rigging techniques.
- Electrical & instrumentation (E&I) competence.
- Mechanical fitting expertise.
- Pipe fitting proficiency.
- Coded welding qualifications.
- Crane operation capability (up to 100 tonne capacity).
