Mission Directors work closely with the customer to design, integrate and deliver complex multi-domain training activities, integrating customer requirements, threat replication capabilities, operational intelligence and training outcomes into realistic mission scenarios.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with ADF customers, industry partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead mission planning, execution and debrief activities involving multiple stakeholders, platforms, systems and simulation environments.
  • Integrate and use mission management, simulation and battle management systems to run and evaluate complex test and training activities.
  • Balance customer requirements, operational risk, test and training objectives and enterprise priorities in complex, dynamic environments.
  • Provide timely, accurate post-mission data for end-user debrief and analysis, and prepare written reports, briefings, analysis and mission products for Defence customers.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, management and mentoring to team members.
  • Guide resource allocation and support the development of proposals to the Commonwealth of Australia for ADF capability needs.

Required profile

  • At least 5 years' experience in one or more of: air operations and operational planning, electronic warfare and electromagnetic spectrum operations, C2ISR systems and integration, intelligence support to operations, synthetic and live-virtual-constructive training environments, exercise planning and operational experimentation, or multi-domain operations and integrated effects planning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at an operational level.
  • Eligible to hold and maintain an Australian Government security clearance (NV1 required, higher clearances highly desirable).

Required skills

  • Advanced knowledge of military air operations, electronic warfare, electromagnetic spectrum operations, C2ISR, operational intelligence or training system development and delivery is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex customer requirements.

The role involves travel to support training delivery, either with the end user or with RAUS personnel. Raytheon Australia offers access to best-practice tools and systems, and tailored learning and development opportunities.
