MineStar Onboard Specialist

About the role

Caterpillar is looking for a MineStar Onboard Specialist to support its MineStar technology platform used by advanced mining operations. You will act as a trusted technical advisor to site personnel, maintenance teams, dispatch operators and mine leadership, helping them optimise fleet performance, improve operational efficiency and get the most value from their technology investments. The position is based in Perth with regular travel to mine sites on an 8/6 roster.

Key responsibilities

• Support the deployment, optimisation and ongoing performance of MineStar onboard systems across customer mining operations.
• Assist with implementation, configuration, commissioning and optimisation of MineStar technologies.
• Conduct system health checks, performance analysis and troubleshooting.
• Work with customers to improve fleet utilisation, productivity and technology adoption.
• Support change management and promote best practices for MineStar usage.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues involving onboard hardware, software and communications systems.
• Deliver training and coaching to site personnel on MineStar functionality and workflows.
• Gather and communicate customer feedback to support product improvement.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, support and product teams and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Required profile

• Experience supporting mining technology, fleet management systems or operational technology solutions in the mining industry.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical systems in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong customer-facing communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safety, customer service and operational excellence.
• Background in Mining Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Experience on operational mine sites in production, maintenance or technology environments.

Required skills

• Highly regarded: experience with Caterpillar MineStar solutions.
• Knowledge of Fleet, Terrain, Detect, Health or Command technologies.
• Experience supporting Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS), Fleet Management Systems (FMS) or related mining technologies.
